Shaab Claude
Overview
This reef is located 10 minutes east of Abu Galawa Kebir. Divers appreciate it not only for the beautiful panoramas in the coral gardens, main attraction is a cave, which is good to dive and has great light shows.
Description
Shaab Claude is about 150m long and 60m wide with a maximum depth of 24m. Boats usually anchor in the south, because there is the cave entrance in 10m depth. Also most of the fish can be found in the southern part of the reef. Here live e.g. batfish, triggerfish, bannerfish, barbels and snappers. Also big napoleon wrasse are not rare.
Often a current from the north makes diving on the west side above the coral garden difficult or impossible. After a bumpy ride by Zodiac to the channel and the anemone colonies, you will be rewarded with a nice drift dive on the east or west side.

- Cave: Such images are usually only known from pictures or videos, but if you can really see the beauty for yourself in this cave, your pulse will beat faster - guaranteed!
Dive Plans
Just before the single large block connected to the main reef is the entrance to the cave. It slopes slightly upwards and after 5m you reach the large chamber. From there you dive straight to the end, right under a block and reach a side passage that leads back to the right after 10m into the large chamber. At the end of the cave towards the north you go through the large coral garden to the large channel.
With the Zodiac to the blocks in the northeast. You can drift south along the east or west side and enjoy the natural spectacle. But this should be discussed with the guide and the captain.
